i feel silly posting myself again, but this represents something and i need to explain.
i made this dress in 2010 and it was an ill-fitting mess and i coordinated it pretty badly. pictures from that meet got posted a bunch of times on cgl and the secrets community, along with insults and slurs. it sucked, because of course that sucks, but also because i couldn’t even be proud of the dress or the outfit because i knew it was bad. eventually whoever kept posting me overdid it, and everyone got bored and moved on. i avoided cameras for a while and tried to take what constructive criticism i could from the situation and improve. and the dress felt kind of cursed and ended up in the back of the closet.
this past weekend i really wanted something with a bow print to wear to a bow-themed meetup. i had a whole other dress in mind but realized about a week before that i didn’t actually have everything i needed for the coordinate. so there was this dress, which would go well with stuff i already had… and i decided to try again.
i still have a ways to go (both in terms of body image and actual physical changes i am working on with diet and exercise) but i think i’ve improved a lot as a lolita in the past few years. i think my coordinates are better, i have had some practice with an eyebrow pencil, and i’ve built a nice little wig collection for days when i want to have bangs (the one thing i can’t really do with my natural hair). not every outfit is perfect of course, but i’ve gotten to the point where i’m not afraid to try new things. so even though i’m still not the most confident person ever, i am proud of what this picture represents.
p.s. the dress arguably fits even worse now thanks to weight loss - i just covered it up with that cutsew cardigan thing XD

Oh hey! That’s me! ^__^
These are my pictures for the Lime Crime Snow White MakeUp Look Contest on Facebook. I know my hair is red and so therefore not quite right for Snow White, but I wanted to show my support for Lime Crime. Xenia was a super generous makeup sponsor for Frill, and so I thought making an entry would be a small show of gratitude. I in no way expect to win. I don’t usually do crazy makeup pictures like this because I don’t feel that my face is really suited for it. ^^;;;

So next week Saturday (June 2nd) it’s the first International Lolita Day of this year.
For that occassion we have a lovely printable greeting card in the current edition of Belgian Cupcakes Magazine, which you can download for free right here, with fabulously cute artwork of the super talented and awesome Annso.
The postcard is free for your own personal use. No making profit out of it or passing it off as your own. It’s Annso’s work and she deserves all the credit for it :)
Happy International Lolita Day!

Wow! I just found this picture of myself on here! I think this was 4 years ago? I was so much thinner. T___T
Last year, I saw a couple of pieces by this artist at the Aspen summer art show. They were truly stunning in person, and they carried all the more impact for being fairly large in scale. I left the show wishing I could shell out the cash for one right at that moment. I would still very much like to have some of his work. One day, in the magical future…
